A clean and very tight book with slightly rubbed edges of spine, mostly at foot edge, very slightly bumped bottom corner of front board, inner clean & unmarked. Dust jacket unclipped with lightly scuffed edges, mostly at bottom edge, spine browned, DJ is protected in mylar. Jean-Paul Sartre applies the philosopher's refined sharp eye and sharper critical pen as to the relationship between Jew, Gentile and anti-Semite in an everyday true context, not as an abstract sociological essay. A controvertial book when first published in its 1946 French edition being the original first, it was seen as a literary provocation and was harshly debated petty much everywhere in France, establishing Sartre as a future dominant literary figure.
