There is no date on this small hard cover book but its presentation seems to match that of the King Penguin books I have just listed that I can only assume it dates from about the same timethe 1950s. I am very pleased to present another in the thematic grouping of art and art-related books what I am currently listing. This one (all in French) is titled: "Le Sacramentaire de Saint-Etienne de Limoges" presented by Jean Porcher (at the time the Conservateur du Cabinet des Manuscrits a la Bibliotheque Nationale). It presents the prayer book used in the church dating back to 1100 and is all in latin. There are 12 color reproductions of the plates of the original, each tipped-in and with a brief explanation of the contents of each plate overleaf just before it. This small hard cover book (5 ½ x 7 inches, 8 pages of text followed by the twelve color plates and their brief descriptions, all in French) was published by Les Editions Nomis of Paris, with no date noted. The hard covers seem to simulate vellum and have red titles, all protected by a printed pictorial paper dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The paper dust jacket shows some edge wear including small tears and chips but is still fully present and functional. The hard covers may be a bit toned although it is hard to say. They are very slightly bumped. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
