"Besides the gaits that belong distinctly to the five-gaited horse, there are a few that may be taught that are strictly high school gaits. In fact, any gait more than the five movements, or any other accomplishment or tricks, puts a horse in the high school class. The high school horse is put beyond the pale of any market price, for there is no limit to the price wealthy admirers will place upon a horse that can do some performances and do them well." ----- from High School Gaits.
