Prima edizione
Soft cover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is one of the best, self-published baseball reference books I have seen. Has 190 pages, bright orange covers with stapled pages, a nice tight copy, in good condition. Has really nice art work; which are normally cartoons from Sporting Life in the 1890s, which all of Wayman's books have. This is by far the most difficult of the Grandstand Baseball Annuals to find, Issue #1. Joe Wayman did the majority of the work, but there are also observations from 19th Century Immortals Adrian (Cap) Anson, Henry Chadwick and Francis Richter. Pete Palmer, Frank Williams, Bill Rubinstein, Jack Selzer, Neil Munro, and Bill Carle bring a modern look to 19th Century Baseball. Great pitchers examined include Kid Nichols, Cy Young, Amos Rusie, Brickyard Kennedy, Clark Griffith, Ted Breitenstein, Sadie McMahon and Nig Cuppy. Every thing you ever wanted to know about pitching in the National League during the 1890s but you didn't know where to look. I have other editions of this series and hundreds of baseball reference books in stock. Discounts are available when you purchase multiple items on the same order.

Prima edizione
Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Joseph Wayman self-published this series for about 20 years before his death in 2008. All of these editions are now becoming very difficult to find. Wayman wrote about 30 pages of text, but there is also Dorothy Jane Mills (the wife of deceased baseball historian Harold Seymour)A Woman's Work. Evidence now seems to indicate that much of the research and writing that Seymour claimed was actually the work of Dorothy Mills. Also articles by John Rossi-Bob Kuzava: Forgotten World Series Hero; Neil Munro-Great Pitching Seasons: Ferguson Jenkins 1971; Fiction by C. Brooke Rothwell-Only the Ball Was Dead; Bill Gilbert- Ranking the Players on the 2001 Hall of Fame Ballot and 23 pages of articles by Gene Carney. Has 224 pages and is in very good condition. Wayman produced some of the most professional and well done self-published baseball work. I have hundreds of books on baseball reference in stock. Discounts are available when you purchase multiple items on the same order.
