First edition.Inscribed on the front endpaper with two sketches of hearts: "To Christinke / with all my LOVE / for LOVE OF CZECHOSLOVAKIA / JF / LA, Nov. 16, 1991".Jirina Fuchs [b. 1943] was born in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia and began publishing poetry there in the 1950s. She moved to the United States in 1963. She studied at New York's Hunter College and at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her poetry appears in Promeny/Metamorphoses, published by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences in New York, and in Czechoslovak publications abroad. Jiri [George] Karger was born in Czechoslovakia in 1924 and studied in Prague. In 1949 he left Czechoslovakia, lived in Norway and Sweden, and moved to America in 1960.Bilingual edition with the poems printed in Czech with English translations.
