Hardcover - Later printing. A 'World Landmark Book' for children, illustrated with two color drawings by Elton Fax. Biography of a man who led his desert tribe of nomads from out of nowhere and conquered half the known world, the scourge of both Christians and Moslems. The Landmark series is perhaps one of the best series for children from the mid-20th century, and they are especially remarkable for the quality of the writing - in many cases, a Landmark book might be the only children's book by an author who is considered an expert in his or her field. Index, illustrated endpapers. 181 pp. Near fine in a very good dust jacket (some chipping to the ends of the spine). Printed ;etter to a 'young reader' from Lamb laid in.

Hardcover. Condizione: Excellent. Book is in Very Good Plus condition with a tight binding and clean crisp pages. Inside text is in Excellent condition and appears to be unread and unused! No writing or markings in the book. There is some soiling inside the front and back covers, but this has no effect on the actual book. Outside pictorial covers are very nice with only some minor wear. Book has come from a private collection and was not in a Library. This is a less common title in the wonderful Landmark series. Genghis Khan and the Mongol Horde World Landmark book #12. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. This book gives a vivid picture of the amazing man whose conquests broke down the barriers of the Dark Ages and put Asia in touch with Europe.
