A revised and expanded edition of one of the best books to come out of the FSA experience, that shows the grim resolve and the conditions in the late 1930's dust bowl. Text by Taylor and powerful black and white images by Lange. This edition includes additional images by Lange and text by Taylor as well. An about very good copy in wrappers with some minor wear and some tiny indentations to the front cover that extend to the first few pages. Still a solid copy of this surprisingly uncommon version.

Rarely has the camera been used so beautifully and effectively as a documentary tool to convey an understanding, easily, clearly and vividly of what Steinbeck also showed in The Grapes of Wrath. Post-American depression migration of Americans moving in hardship through the 1930s finding a place. Near fine blue boards with gilt titles in very good illustrated (Lange) front cover with its pronounced Voltaire quote on the back cover. Top edge and only parts of the bottom edge have been reinforced. The book is in mylar protective cover. The full dignity of the front cover comes through quite nicely.

Features text by Paul Schuster Taylor and powerful black and white images by Lange. An about very good copy in blue cloth boards with some light wear to the spine ends and corners and some foxing to the pages but with the rubberstamp ownership stamp of Henry Holmes Smith to the half title page and in a very good second issue dust jacket (Voltaire quote on the rear panel) with some small chips to the spine ends and corners, a small chip to the base of the front panel and some other edge tears and wear. Still, a solid copy of this classic with an excellent provenance. (Roth 102-103, Parr & Badger v1, 142-143).
