Original Cloth. Condizione: Good. First Edition. The spine is browned with some rubbing along the edges and a little fraying at the top and bottom and in a few places along the edges. Rubbing to the corners and blistering to the surface in a few places, particularly at the top right corner of the rear panel. Browning to the page edges. The front free endpaper has the bookplate and name in ink of Anthony Edwards, Life Fellow of Gonville & Caius College and retired Professor of Biometry at the University of Cambridge. This book was part of his collection of Cambridge books which was a reflection of his keen and active interest in the governance of the Collegiate University. There is also the name of an earlier owner in pencil at the top of the front free endpaper. There is browning and light spotting to the endpapers and spotting to the half-title and title pages along with the equivalent pages at the back of the book. There are some light annotations in pencil through the book - mainly vertical lines in the margins. The pages have some slight browning and there is a little spotting in a few places but the pages are otherwise generally clean and unmarked. No jacket. First printing.
