The translator James Mabbe (1571/2-1642?) spent years in Spain from 1611 as secretary to Sir John Digby, and in 1622 his friend Edward Blount first published this translation of Alem n's work. In 1623, the same year as this 2nd printing, a poem by Mabbe appeared in the Shakespeare first folio, which was also published by Edward Blount in 1623. The typeface, format and paper of this book are remarkably similar to those of the first folio. Referenced by: STC (2nd ed.), 289. 1 volume. Hardcover.
