Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. University of Oklahoma Press, Norman, OK. 1968. Hardcover. Stated First Edition. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: Fine. DJ: Near Fine; NOT Price Clipped ($5.95); small puncture on rear panel at the gutter. Brown cloth boards and spine with brown lettering on the spine; yellow Zia in spine shadowbox. Gold endpapers. 222 pp 8vo. This book is comprised of the reports that COL George McCall sent to the Secretary of War about the state of military readiness that state was in, in 1850. To say the least, it was dismal. There was no civil government, the U.S. military was understaffed, and the Indians could raid at will both civilian and military cantonments. His inspection reports and those of the defensive needs of the Territory are the core of this book. The editing by Frazer has added fresh and valuable background material. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
