    Erste Ausgabe. ? Ludwig Beatus Meyer (1780-1854), Sohn des Klosterverwalters in Gandersheim, studierte in Kiel, wurde anschließend Lehrer in Stockholm und dann in Kopenhagen im Hause des Grafen Schimmelmann. Später veröffentlichte er einige dänische lexikographische Werke und erhielt 1821 den Professorentitel. Dänemark erklärte beim Ausbruch des 3. Koalitionskrieges seine Neutralität gegen Frankreich. Als Augenzeuge berichtet Meyer hier von dem Kampf der Dänen gegen die Engländer, die nach einem viertägigen Bombardement die Auslieferung der dänischen Flotte erzwingen und dadurch die Schließung der Ostsee verhindern. ?
