Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. There is some light shelfwear on the cloth, with bumped corners, a few spots of adhesive staining on the upper corner of the back cover, slight skewing of the covers, lightly impacted upper tips on both ends of the books, and faintly yellowed pages; the book is attractive and in very good condition with clean print and a secure binding.

Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Fair. 1st Edition. In English. First Editions (NAP). I'm pricing these two volumes dramatically below the least expensive two volume set for sale on the Internet. Binding issues in both volumes are the reason, Volume II in particular. I've had these books for quite a long time. They've been sitting peacefully on the bookshelf. In looking through Volume II this evening, a split occurred between pages 96 and 97 and, as you can see in the photos, the top inch or so of the cloth stayed stuck to the spine while the rest of the spine cloth came free of it. The pages on both sides of the detachment are not themselves detached. However they are somewhat stiff and there are a couple gatherings which are loosely bound. It would not surprise me if some of these gatherings detached, particularly with use. In volume I, the binding issues are not quite as dire. However, there there are a number of gatherings that are only partially bound and there are several instances where there is a wide crack between facing pages. I would expect a number of these gatherings to detach at some point, perhaps soon. So this is an offer to someone with significant book repair skills. Positively, the poorly bound pages are in what I would describe as very good condition. Most notably they are free of foxing. They also have a bare minimum of soiling. I'm scrolling through the pages now without seeing any soiling. When I was turning them over one by one earlier I saw only a few spots. So the pages are exceptionally clean. I did see a few edge tears, also a few rough edges, but that was it. There were some dogeared corners, some corners that got a little scrunched. I flattened them out. The tips of a few corners came off, only a few. So neither volume is badly creased. I would say that the amount of creasing, particularly given the age of the books, is less than would be expected. I didn't see any markings on any of the pages. There are no attachments in either volume. I didn't see any writing of any kind in either volume. There are no names. As for the covers, I've provided photographs. The rear covers are pretty soiled. Several of the volumes corners have spots of rub-through. But, mainly, the issues are with the spines. For what it's worth, the gilt design and lettering on the spines and fronts is quite bright.
