He was also recruited and worked for the CIA in the 1950's, teaching operatives sleight of hand techniques (Edwards, The Sphinx and the Spy). This was his first book on magic. In GOOD+ condition. Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. Good or better with considerable rubbing to the white decoration on the cover including the rabbit. No markings or bookplate. Some age-toning to paper. No dust jacket. Author's first book. Later he would become editor of THE SPHINX magazine. This 134 page book, though aimed at amateurs will be of interest to more advanced magic students because of the history in the first chapter and the unusual nature of the tricks taught. They are not in the cookie-cutter mold of most beginner books. For example, there is an interesting chapter on "The Cane of the Jadoo-Wallah" relating an authentic mystery from India.
