He apparently was a French language teacher in 18th century England. This is the dictionary volume for the Part I text that includes over 500 various examples of royalty and heraldry, a small and charming illustrated 18th-century book on European heraldry. Includes alphabetical list of heraldic terms. Tight, bright, and unmarred. Binding intact with some discoloration and foxing. Tape on title page, does not interfere with text. Rebound in red cloth with gilt lettering with new endpapers. 95-334 pages (two of two volume), 21 unnumbered leaves of plates (copper plate engravings), illustrations. Untrimmed, edges, and few uncut pages. Otherwise, a nice copy of the Part II [dictionary annex].
