Condizione: Fine. New York: 1976. 1976. Fine. - Plain cream-colored greeting card, 5-3/4 inches high by 5 inches wide. An original black-and-white etching by Michael Kirk, approximately 1-1/2 inches high by 2-1/2 inches wide, illustrates the inner panel of the otherwise blank card. The etching is signed below the image "Michael Kirk '76". A note is penciled by Renee Rockoff above the etching signed by her "Love / Renee & Michael". There is some very minor soiling to the back of of the card. Together with a stamped mailing envelope addressed in Renee Rockoff's hand. Near fine with a good envelope. Renee Rockoff's note reads: "Dear [----] / May 77 bring you & wife the best of success, happiness & health / Love / Renee & Michael". Kirk's fine signed etching depicts a street scene in subtle shades of black & gray with several figures walking under a striped awning on which is printed "Green Grocers of America Ltd".Michael Kirk [b. 1947] is an American painter and printmaker. He earned his Master of Fine Art degree from the Pratt Institute, New York City and soon after received an artist-in-residence award at Cameret, France. His art has been shown in international exhibitions and throughout the United States. In 1975 he created a portfolio of acquatints titled "Doorways" which are listed in the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art.
