Decorative Cloth. Condizione: Very Good +. No Jacket. Original decorated blue pictorial cloth, 4to, 12 volumes complete set. Published between 1908 to 1911, and appear to be the first edition issue. Each volume is c250 - 300 pages, is illustrated with colour and black and white full page plates, some folding, and numerous text illustrations. Four volumes have moveable plates tipped onto the rear pastedowns, with fold over coloured onlays depicting external structures of livestock ( horse, cow, pig, sheep ).The bindings are attractive, with the cover having a simple but effective tooled depiction of a horse drawn plough at work in the fields, with a setting sun in gilt on the horizon - this is all largely repeated ion the spines, with the addition of gilt titles etc adding to the pleasing shelf appearance. There is a little marking to several covers but most are clear, and overall the bindings are crisp and bright. Internally there is some light to moderate spotting in places, but certainly not beyond acceptable levels, and the contents are otherwise clean and tight. A pleasing set in VG+ condition. A very heavy set weighing some 17kg or so after packing - the shipping will need to be adjusted at the time of order ( or can be advised in advance on enquiry ). For UK delivery a courier would bre recommended to keep the price down. Photos to follow. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
