Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Good+. First Edition. B & W Half-tone photos and drawings; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 413 pages; 1901 William Randolph Hearst. HC 1st edition. Soundly bound in original brown cloth with pictorial design to cover in white black and red and title in red and black. Recipes sent in to and published by the editors of 3 Hearst newspapers, New York Journal, Chicago American, San Francisco Examiner. Not exactly what we think of a a Community Cook Book, but in some respects related as a sort of crowd sourced collection of recipes. Cloth crimped and lightly frayed at spine ends. Some of the white of the cover illustration flaked away; light tub trhough and fray to cloth at corners. Patterned paper endsheets have had some archival glue mending in the hinge gutters. A prior owner name and gift inscription penned to front endpages and here and there a pencil check mark in the margin to a recipe of special note. Illustrated with half-tone b&w photos on glossy stock and some line illustrations. Quite uncommon turn of the century cook book. G++ to VG-.
