William T Stead (1849-1912) was a British newspaperman and editor who was once described as ''the most famous journalist in the British Empire''. He died on the Titanic. BINDING/CONDITION: green cloth with paste-on title on front cover and spine; owner's note on the front endpaper; the spine is very badly slanted; Fair condition. Two facing pages are badly darkened from a laid-in news clipping. small 8vo (about 7.5 inches tall). 256 pages.

This is a rather small, pocket-size volume, measuring six inches tall.

Green hardcover cloth binding with picture pastedown of the Goose with three children under her outstretched wings shows wear and rubbing along all edges with boards showing bottom edges and corners. Spine has tears in cloth but all is intact and binding is square and tight. Pastedown is rubbed and soiled. Ffep mostly removed with still a portion of illustrated endpapers remaining. Yellowed tape on closed tears on many pages throughout book. This book has lots of general wear but the binding is secure and intact. A decent reading copy and cover still displays nicely for a vintage look. Photos available upon request. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.
