Wrappers. String-bound, cover label. Pages unopened at top. Arms of St. Paul's School printed on red on title page. Fine copy. Colophon states: Of this, the first of a number of supplements to be issued by Horae Scholasticae, 1450 [!] copies were made at the Ashlar Press in December, 1931." Uncommon, despite the staggeringly high number of copies supposedly printed by the amateur press of August and Maurice Heckscher. The press device, appearing on the colophon page, was designed by Rockwell Kent. Scudder was a long-serving master at St. Paul's. He died in 1935. Our current list includes typographical ephemera relating to Rockwell Kent and his contemporaries.
