This is a beautiful volume of the cyanotypes by Anna Atkins, a contemporary and colleague of Sir John Herschel. Atkins is recognized as the first female photographer, and also produced the first book to use photographic illustrations. This particular volume reproduces many of her works from British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions, as well as pieces done with the help of her friend Anne Dixon. Absolutely a book for any photography historian or enthusiasts, as well as botanists.
