With tan cloth-covered boards stamped in black lettering to front & spine, this hardcover small 8vo is in Good condition: generally very clean, but exterior shows staining from discoloration of old mylar on DJ. First signature of pages is loosened from stitched binding at bottom; else, binding secure, pages creamy white & unmarked. The DJ, clipped at both corners of front flap, is only Good-: colors bright, with light soil & missing about 1" chip from head of spine; nicely protected in new clear mylar cover. Original Cloth. Condizione: Good. First Edition. First UK edition. Translated by Stuart Gilbert. There is a little darkening to the spine which is frayed at the top and bottom. The corners are bumped and rubbed and the fore edges are discoloured. The rear panel has a half inch patch of surface damage to the bottom left corner. Browning to the page edges. Previous owner's name and date in ink to the front free endpaper and a small bookshop stamp to the bottom corner of the rear free endpaper. Browning to the endpapers but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. No jacket. First printing.
