He reached a decision that Gandhi has presented a complete philosophy relevant for a peaceful life and peaceful society that can build up a new civilization, in which every person can live selfsufficiently either economically or politically. This book contains ten chapters starting with civilization and culture and ends with Mahatma Gandhi's contribution to Indian Culture. To summarize, Gandhian philosophy in itself is a quest of new civilization, where lies 'the welfare and growth of all'. About The Author: Late Prof. Dashrath Singh, was born in a remote village of Bihar namely Manda in 1941 in a humble peasant family. Fighting with all odds Prof. Singh obtained his Masters' degree from Ranchi University, and was honored gold medal. He entered into IIT Kanpur as research scholar in humanities department, was awarded degree of doctorate from Bhagalpur University in 1972. His vast research appeared in form of "Gandhivad ko Vinoba ki Den", which won prestigious 'Mandan Mishra award' in 1984. Retired as Professor and head of Department of Philosophy and Gandhian Thought from H.D. Jain college Ara, Prof. Singh devoted his life in research and preaching Gandhian Philosophy. In course he served as head of 'Non violence and peace research' in Jain Vishwa Bharti, Ladnun, Rajasthan. He visited violence ridden Srilanka and Bapu Memorial Trust, UK, to preach gospels of Bapu. Time to time his research came into limelight, in form of books like 'Perspectives in Gandhian Thought', and 'Relevance of Gandhian Thought', apart from several articles in different journals/magazines. Prof. Singh was hit by cancer in his last days. But the dreaded disease couldn't break his quest to analyze necessity of Gandhian Philosophy for modern society. He left us forever on 10042006. His thoughts and research during his last days are now compiled in form of the present book.Veteran educationist and retired Principal of Dr. Nemichand School, Ara, Dr. Kumud Sinha is an active social worker also. Inspired from her husbands' thinking, her research came in form of 'Education Comparative study of Gandhi and Freire' in 1995.
