Aggiungi al carrello1897. (Hardcover) Very good plus, no dust jacket. 826pp. Burgundy leather with gilt lettering. All edges gilt, index, photographs, illustrations, advertisement. The spine is lightly faded, there is minor cracking on the bottom of the front endpaper, and page 344 is lightly soiled. "Phonographers, we are sure, will agree with us that we cannot do other than begin our customary retrospective review of the year just closed with a reference to the topic which has been uppermost in the minds of our readers since last September, namely, the state of health of the 'Father of Phonography,' and the founder of this Journal. The kindly regard - we might almost say affection - which has been expressed for Sir Isaac Pitman during his illness, from writers of his system and from others interested in his work in all parts of the world, has cheered him in this period of failing strength in a way which nothing else could" - from the Annual Address to our Readers. Text in English & Shorthand. (Linguistics, Phonology, Pitman Shorthand).

So much activity in the promotion of public gatherings, and such widespread discussion, can hardly fail to have important effects in still further promoting the acquirement and use of shorthand" - from the Annual Address to our Readers.
