Soft cover. Condizione: Good. Softcover trade catalog. Stiff blue paper covers, stapled at spine. No indication of date, but I would estimate 1910-1930s. 28 pages. Measures 11 x 8.5 inches. The guide illustrates various food plant equipment manufactured from nickel and Monel Metal -- materials resistant to corrosion. Every step in the food manufacturing process is outlined: sorting, separating and grading, washing, brining, conveying, drying, blanching and scalding, pulping and finishing, grinding and mixing, straining and clarifying, storage and transportation, and so on. Every page bears black-and-white photographs. There are also pages dedicated to cooking kettles, cooking coils, filling and packaging, utensils, special equipment, and sea food packing equipment. In good condition. Covers are a little rubbed but unmarked. Binding is strong with clean and unmarked pages.

Soft cover. Condizione: Good. From the International Nickel Company, a catalog outlining nickel alloy in mining and milling equipment. The 8.5 by 11 inch staple-bound softcover is 15 pages and in good condition. This is based on an article by John E. Kerr in Engineering and Mining Journal, November and December, 1939. This is more of a manual with tex and illustrations, charts, and photographs for specifications. The green and white decorated cover has some rubbing to the front and fading to the back and is library stamped and dated 1941. The inside pages are clean and without markings.

"Properties and Applications of Nickel and Nickel-Chromium Cast Iron." Cream wrappers, hole punched at left edge. 11 pages, measuring 8.5 x 11 inches. B&w illustrations throughout. There are shallow creases to the volume and two small stains from a rusty paperclip to the wrapper. Overall good condition, binding is strong with unmarked pages.

Contains various descriptions of how monel can be used industrially and otherwise. Each of the various uses has at least a page worth of description and photographs (all of which are black and white). The catalogue itself is in good condition. There are three rubber stamps along the top of the front cover and thy read "Reference", "Catalogue Library" and "May 25 1938". Cover shows some general wear and a small tear at the top of the back cover. Pages are nice and clean.

Some technical drawings are labeled diagrams, showing the location of important components, such as rivets and joints, and giving physical dimensions. Pages 20-46 are a series of reproductions of advertisements from companies that use the tank construction model that the company produces. Covers are mostly detached from the pages, and show shelfwear, with significant wear to edges and corners. 3" tear to front cover, originating from center of spine. Triangular chunk missing from fore-edge of front cover, 3/5" in length. Stamp on front cover contains date (May 22, 1931) and indication that this catalogue came from the library of the US Patent Office. Pages are lightly toned, but are clean and free of markings. Chemical analyses are nominal values; those for nickel represent nickel plus a small amount of cobalt. Mechanical properties have been expressed as average values for the materials in each of their several commercial conditions, rather than as range values. This is an important technical snapshot of significant classes of material after the Second World War.
