Naturrally I feel a special closeness with those two great American cowboys, Bill Pickett and Charles Goodnight. And of course, with Buffalo Bill Cody, who rode his rich experience as a plainsman onto the entertainment stage. This special edition also gives us sketches of the frontier itself - the realm of the Plains Indians, the wildlife they lived among, the open range of the cowboy, and - not surprisingly for the Postal Service - their struggle to deliver the mail to the frontier West.
