Full dark gray leather binding; vibrant gilt stamping to both boards and spine with letter additionally decorated with five raised bands. All edges gilt. Sewn-in gray silk ribbon page marker. Pale lilac silk moire endpapers. Past owner's personal Southern Classics Library bookplate with his ink signature and noting "Registry Number 6062" affixed to ffep verso; interior leaves are otherwise bright and clean. Binding remains fairly crisp. Laid-in between pages 2-3 is folded promotional "Charter Member" letter from The Southern Classics Library; separate publisher's slip laid-in between pages 164-165. First published in 1930, the landmark I'LL TAKE MY STAND provided the intellectual foundation of the Southern Agrarian movement. A few small spots of foxing to first few pages, otherwise interior is clean, unmarked, and unblemished. Book is now protected with an archival mylar wrapper. . First Edition. Hard Cover.
