No date but likely issued in the early 1970s. 9.5 x 9.5 inches. Cream-colored buckram-like paper semi-stiff boards, with rust red lettering. Generally unbumped, with rather sharp corners. The text block is firmly bound in. Unnumbered pages. Numerous B&W and color plates on semi-glossy paper of the artist's stencil print work, kappazuri. Some of the color plates are tipped in. This particular book contains prints almost entirely produced during the 1960s. Title page with facsimile signature of the artist. Also with slipped in biography of the artist. A very good copy in a somewhat wrinkled clear tissue protective wrap. The thin cardboard slipcase, stapled at top and bottom, is somewhat fragile, and rated Good Minus to Fair. A scarce book in any condition. 1 lb. 4 oz. Yoshitoshi Mori [1898-1992] graduated from the Kawabata School of Fine Arts and studied stencil fabric dyeing with Yanagi Soetsu and Serizawa Keisuke. After reaching age 50 he began making stencil prints on paper. He had numerous one-man shows in Japan as well as abroad. In 1991 he was honored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for his long years of meritorious service. Yoshitoshi Mori works are represented in the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art, New York Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the official residence of the Prime Minister of Japan.
