Neuware -Bachelor Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Romance Studies - Italian and Sardinian Studies, University of Innsbruck, language: Italian, abstract: La questione se gli effetti di essere multilingue siano prevalentemente positivi o negativi può essere controversa. Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 28 pp. Italienisch.

Altogether, 17,369 deals with a value of 3.2 trillion (tn.) US-Dollars (USD) were performed. There are numerous reasons to invest and divest in inorganic growth. Organic growth has its limitations, thus acquiring competitors, growing vertically or horizontally as well as accessing new markets are strong motivators to do so. Growing a business is often linked with going public. The decision to be part of the stock market and to perform M&A influences an enterprise¿s value for various reasons. To approach these questions, the first chapter gives a general overview of reasons, motivators, risks and benefits of M&A. Thereafter, the influence of M&A on a company¿s shareholder value and EPS is examined. Then, the bootstrap effect is explained and subsequently illustrated by an exemplary M&A transaction. Afterwards the risks and benefits of bootstrapping and M&A are analysed to consider its usefulness and influence on the share price and EPS.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 32 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2019 in the subject Politics - Other International Politics Topics, grade: 1,7, University of Bamberg, course: Internationale und europäische Politik: International Institutions and their Role in Global Governance, language: English, abstract: In modern societies, science and scientific knowledge are considered to have a deep impact on society even beyond technological progress or economic growth. Science in general and scientific knowledge in specific represent an all-embracing power. They not only fundamentally determine how we see the world. They also influence political decision-making by providing new insights and altering how we perceive what societal and political issues are or how to solve them. Morisse-Schilbach even states: 'It seems that the use of expert knowledge and especially scientific knowledge is increasingly integral to the way political and societal actors perceive and deal with political, economic, and social issues, both on the domestic and global scale.'This paper will analyze the influence of knowledge on the creation of international institutions. Led by the question 'How did Epistemic Communities facilitate the creation of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) ', the analysis starts with a brief introduction to epistemic communities. It will show how their work has an impact on political decision-making and how knowledge can cause demand for institutionalized cooperation. In particular, through the approach of weak cognitivism the following chapter provides theoretical background knowledge on how epistemic communities create institutions by providing knowledge and defining issues. Subsequent, the analysis continues with the development of 'climate' to our modern understanding. The meaning of climate changed fundamentally through scientific findings and emphasized climate change as a global issue. In order to answer the research question, the knowledge of climate and ozone layer will be examined on its effect on the creation and expansion of referring institutions. Theoretically, pushed by knowledge, the perception of climate change as a global issue received broad attention by policy-makers. Rising perception eventually elevated 'climate' to a global topic and caused need to act. Policymakers as well as referring epistemic communities cooperated globally and eventually created the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

The Israelis claim it as the capital of their nation, the Palestinians want it to be the center of their hoped-for future state. The issue has gained a critical urgency and relevance recently, because on December 6, 2017 US-President Donald J. Trump announced the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. By reversing seven decades of US neutrality and appeasement policy in this matter, his decision caused a lot of frustration among the Arabic community and states around the world. The UN General Assembly called the status of Jerusalem as Israel¿s capital 'null and void' - a pretty extraordinary situation of disagreement between the UN and the United States (Res. ES-10/L.22 2017).This essay will establish a theoretical framework, by comparing the two schools of thought within the rational-constructivist debate. Subsequently, both theories will be applied on the present case of US foreign policy, after having ensured contextual understanding by going through essential historical aspects of US-Israeli relations and the effects of Trump¿s decision.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

The study with the title 'Disaster Risk Reduction Management Practices of School Principals: Towards School Based Policy Guidelines' is especially designed to meet the requirements of the ever-changing needs of the schools in managing disaster. The prevailing situations our nation is facing nowadays is the compelling reason why this study came into existence. Children, most especially in elementary schools are the ones to benefit if practices in DRRM are presented firmly and effectively. As provided by RA 10121 or the Philippine DRRM act of 2010, the concern agencies must deliver or provide a proactive approach in addressing risk in disaster, wherein its main focus is to prepare locals from imminent risk during disaster. It also stipulated the need of integrating DRR to school curricula in all levels and areas. The results and recommendations of this study, though it is everybody¿s concern, is pointing to the school principals that they should carry the burden on addressing the need of properly practiced DRR management to create a safe learning environment.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Both approaches avoid any assumptions according to assumed process attributes behind the data (stochastic process, stationarity, normal distribution of random noise). Those methods engineer data of any kind of business processes. Only unidentified (inherent) process structures are used for forecasting. Speed represents the drive of current business development. IT is about allowing automatic self-synchronizing (production) processes. Big Data potentially offers the identification of hidden structures. In many companies mobile information access is being used. Multi-Channel B2C, B2B and M2M are gaining the managerial pole position. But nevertheless the quality of data is the key for producing excellent results. It is important that planning is based on as realistic data as possible. Neuware -Academic Paper from the year 2013 in the subject English Language and Literature Studies - Linguistics, grade: 92.00, The University of Memphis, course: Communication Research, language: English, abstract: Slang is a rather complex subject, similar to the complexity of Biology. I believe there are different levels to slang. I also believe that slang itself can be identified as a second language, depending on who speaks it and where it is spoken. All my life I have spoken slang. I grew up around people who also spoke slang rather frequently. I guess one could argue slang has been a part of my very fabric since I was able to speak and remember.Growing up I did not understand that I was speaking slang. I had never given any serious thought to the way I spoke or the people around me. I never had to. I did not realize I spoke differently or 'wrong' until I was measured up against someone else's speaking, primarily white people. When I was a child I could remember being corrected by my teachers, all of whom spoke slang, but they had the ability to code switch when it was necessary, an ability I had not yet possessed. It would often make me feel less confident when I was corrected by my teachers for speaking incorrectly, considering the fact that it was done so frequently. I could never understand why I had to adjust my speaking if my teachers understood me perfectly fine. I remember feeling a strong sense of discomfort when I spoke slang among people who did not speak slang.Trying to adjust was like learning another language and very troubling for me. It often made me question, 'What is slang ', 'Why can¿t I just speak the way I am comfortable ' and 'Why is slang so bad if I¿m perfectly understood ' All of these questions lead to my exploration of slang and compelled me to do extensive research on the subject matter. I want to understand, 'why is slang considered bad in certain settings if the communication is effective 'Slang has evolved tremendously over the years. There is not any objective defining of slang. Researchers have speculated how useful and useless slang is or has been over the years. It cannot be said that slang was ever meaningless it has been based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system. 16 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2020 in the subject Philosophy - Theoretical (Realisation, Science, Logic, Language), grade: 1,7, University of Bristol (Philosophy), course: Philosophy of Language, language: English, abstract: When we ask ourselves what sentences are, we conclude that they are types of signs and sounds. So-to-say individual signs and sounds that are executed by people in different situations for a specific purpose, usually for communication.According to Grice, we express our opinion, a wish or intention with the goal of the desired reaction. Therefore, he believes that the meaning of the sentence is rooted in the mental and suggests that it needs to be explained in terms of the psychological states of the individual human being. This might be no less than the reduction of linguistic meaning to psychology. For that in terms of describing Grice¿s reductive project, the focus is on the explication of sentence meaning in psychological terms. According to him, it proceeds in two importantly different stages: In the first stage, Grice attempts to reduce sentence meaning to speaker-meaning. The second stage contains, his try to reduce speaker-meaning to a complex of psychological states, concentrating on a type of intention. In contrast to Grice, there are two kinds of well-known ¿use¿ theories: The Wittgensteinian view and Wilfrid Sellars¿ Inferentialism. According to these languages and linguistic expressions are neither bloodless abstract objects nor do they have lives on their own. Wittgenstein argued that ¿words and sentences are more like game pieces or tokens, used to make moves in rule-governed conventional social practices¿ and Sellars view centralizes the complexity of patterns of inference.Already with this short overview, it has become clear in which manifold theories try to explain theoretically how the meaning of languages comes about. Therefore, the following elaboration is divided into various sub-areas. First Grice¿s second stage theory, the speaker-meaning, will be explained in detail, before sentence-meaning, as the first stage theory, will be associated. Contrasts will be evinced, before use theories come into play, also by their distinction to Grice¿s theory. The last investigation will be if either Grice¿s theory or a use theory of meaning can be squared with truth-conditional semantics. After I have explained why I see a stronger connection between Grice¿s theory and the truth-conditional semantics, I will conclude the elaboration with a summary.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 20 pp. Englisch.

Different and multiple activities were created in order to improve and help the pupil understand difficult concepts about the subject. Assessments were made and subjected to parallel testing. The activities were finalized and administered in an Elementary School, with 23 Grade IV pupils as respondents. The mean, mastery and performance level on the actual lesson and the utilization of SIM were computed. Moreover, results were compared. The mastery and performance level before and after the use of the Strategic Intervention Material were interpreted. Furthermore, tourism and its importance as an economic factor is reported. As an exemplary study of the interaction between climate change and tourism, those will be explained using two areas that are particularly sensitive: the Maldives archipelago and the Alpine region. For each of these two examples, the initial situation, the problem, is explained and subsequently possible solutions or solution approaches are presented and critically questioned. Due to the business context, little attention is paid to political or ethical issues. In 2019 there was almost no other global issue as present and polarising as climate change. Starting with many movements, such as 'Fridays for Future', the public was increasingly made aware of the topic. The topic has also become increasingly relevant politically. As early with the 2015 UN Climate Conference, important points were set to reduce global warming. What can be done to control these Technology and online communication nowadays play a major role in many aspects of our daily lives. Especially, when it comes to social media companies, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Ask.fm or Kik. Many people, particularly young children, use various social media platforms to communicate with friends or their family, to get inspired, to grow personally, for international business purposes, to develop new relationships or for entertainment purposes.Along with the growth in usage of social media, however, there are increasing concerns over its benefits as well as safety. One of the pernicious concerns of social media is cyberbullying, as well as cyberstalking. Recent studies indicate that in 2009 and 2011 5 - 40 % of young users are victims of a cyberbullying incidents. The fact that many of these incidents end up with tragic suicide, constitutes cyberbullying as one of the most dangerous aspect of social media.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 24 pp. Englisch.

The paper based administration has become too slow for nowadays speed of services and shows an immense need for innovation. Since the introduction of the internet and information technology, society shifted the way we engage with each other. Where the private sector managed to restructure business, governments haven¿t managed to shift towards a more effective use of resources and time. One of the first countries to introduce a different mindset on how a government should operate was Estonia. This approach of a shift treating a citizen as a consumer and on the other hand seeing government as a producer, rather than just executor had an immense impact on the country. This approach on being a service oriented government had proven itself as reliable and made Estonia to a leading technology hub worldwide. This concept, of restructuring a state by having an effective government is transferable to the fairly new Western Balkan states. The goal of this essay is to measure the possible impact of E-Governmant for economic growth, prosperity and development for the relatively poor Balkan states. This essay is conducted as following:1) Introduction to the importance of the topic;2) Theoretical basis of e-Government and successful implementations;3) The story of E-Estonia;4) Analysis of implementation in the Balkans;5) Closing remarksBoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 36 pp. Englisch.

How did the changes over the years transform the industry and its consumers Over the past years, the tourism industry had depended heavily on marketing using the power of the word of mouth. It used to be our family and friends, who would assist in the planning of our traveling, with the assistance of travel agencies, magazines and tourism guides. With the emergence of digital technologies in the present world however, the word of mouth has been prolonged to a limited group of people who are widely spread all over the world. Social Media, a greater outcome of digital technology is now being used to connect travelers to the recommendations and opinions of people all over the world. The development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), within the last two distinctly different decades, have greatly transformed the tourism sector in almost all parts of the world. This is a good opportunity to deal with the eventful history of Kosovo, a small area in the Western Balkan as big as Upper Austria. Until now, there is a controversy over the legal status of Kosovo under public international law. The political tensions between Kosovo and Serbia continue. For example, most recently on July 21, 2018 Serbia refused Kosovös Minister for Foreign Affairs, Behgjet Pacolli, entry. Since Kosovo is no State, Belgrade argues, Kosovo cannot have a Minister for Foreign Affairs. Dealing with Kosovo is fruitful in many ways, in my point of view, for it can help to understand the triggers for remedial secession, to explain the external and internal right of self-determination of minorities and to show how political participation and the right to secession are linked. The eventful history of Kosovo will be portrayed at the outset of my seminar paper by discussing and highlighting selected aspects (2. A Short History of Kosovo ¿ Selected Aspects). In a next step, the ICJ¿s Advisory Opinion of July 22, 2010 concerning Kosovo will be presented and critically appraised by discussing two noteworthy separate opinions (3. ICJ Advisory Opinion of July 22, 2010). Afterwards, the controversial instrument of remedial secession will be discussed by examining the normative question about its application in the Kosovo case (4. Right to secession ). At the end of my seminar paper a conclusion of the findings discussed will be provided.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 24 pp. Englisch.

The five hypothesis the author make about the system of arbitrary trade prior to the analysis are the following:Firstly, Guns are being produced and traded not solely for purposes of the defense industry in a political sense of security dilemma, but also for purposes of war making. Conflicts and wars profit certain groups in the international world order. Secondly, global gun trade is regulated not solely by the states foreign policy, but also by gun manufacturing corporations that try to influence the emergence of new conflicts in destabilized parts of the world. Business actors are mainly interested to increase their profits. Thirdly, dominant states abuse arms trade over third world states as a tool of foreign policy, in order to have influence in domestic matters. New opportunities with digital technologies are not applied in the international society, due to the international society structure of sovereign states. This structure makes state cooperation in international order based on self binding norms with little or no consequences for the rule breaking country. Lastly, the restrictions in arms trade volumes or restrictions for states to acquire armaments would lead to less new conflicts in the long term. The challenge of this thesis is to combine three areas, that don¿t seem to match to each other, namely international relations, gun trade and new digital technologies to give a practical solution to one particular policy problem - unrestricted international gun trade. This paper will challenge orthodox ways of problem - solving approaches in international relations by focusing mostly on empirical evidence, rather than theory. It will combine international relations with the power of new digital technologies, including blockchain technology, to deal with international political and economic problems.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 36 pp. Englisch.

This procedure follows Ang et al. (2006). Similar to the findings of Ang et al. (2006) for the US stock market this paper shows that there is a significant difference in returns relative to the Fama-French three-factor model, between portfolios of stocks with high and portfolios of stocks with low past idiosyncratic volatility. Although for the period 1990 - 2016 no relationship between lagged idiosyncratic volatility and the cross-section of stock returns has been found, the Idiosyncratic Volatility Puzzle reveals itself for the sub-period 2003 - 2016, when the respective portfolios of stocks with different levels of idiosyncratic volatility are controlled for size.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 40 pp. Englisch.

For this purpose, a literature study has been operated, which encompasses inter alia renowned authors like Alvesson, Gendron, Hopwood, Humphrey, Parker and Sandberg. The seminar thesis is set up as follows: It starts with a brief overview about the presence of performance thinking in academia and its emergence. Thereupon, the actual main part follows which deals with the examination of the consequences triggered by performativity. After limiting the thesis to the university¿s activity of research and more precisely to the performance indicator of journal rankings in particular, firstly positive consequences and subsequently negative consequences are examined. As a next step, change attempts and resistance against the performativity movement in general and against specific consequences out of it are introduced. In the final discussion chapter, the previous findings are illuminated from different angels and in this course also reflected and brought into wider context. The seminar thesis ends with a short summary of the outcomes and a personal notation of the author.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

Afterwards the author considers three motivations that most directly influence a leader¿s behaviour, discussing the goals behind them, the resulting behaviour and its influence on the leadership style. The final part of this work starts with brief explanations of Emotional Intelligence in leadership and some of the more common models of the leadership process. From these, a model of Integrated Emotional Intelligence (IEI) in the leadership process is developed. Considering the elements of this model, the effects of Emotional Intelligence on leader behaviour and leader communication are explained. The cognisance of leaders on leadership is much influenced by their perception on their own leadership abilities and their motivations. These, however, may turn out to be quite complex and lacking the consideration of the followers¿ abilities and motivations. Emotional Intelligence in leadership is one concept to enhance leaders¿ cognisance in this respect.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 20 pp. Englisch.

In the globalized world, interaction with people from different corners of the earth and with different cultural perceptions is increasingly becoming a very important element to analyze and live, especially if these areas are reached by people who are moved to take care of their businesses, of teams to which to devote the economic interest of the company itself. In this very varied contest, different cultures of different latitudes meet and must understand each other correctly in order to obtain the result of optimization of the requested performance, a real small revolution that concerns first of all the people and managers who are invested in this company. It is not for everyone to be within reach as the manager's mind must be open and evaluate together with his team the potential of this opportunity for expansion in a new market, therefore knowing the uses and customs of the people with whom he will have to deal and interact with the company effectively. Cultural intelligence and adaptations are very important practices for a manager who must involve the team to work locally in another distant reality.BoD - Books on Demand, In de Tarpen 42, 22848 Norderstedt 16 pp. Englisch.

To do this a catalyst is required. The conversion process of used oil is the aim of this paper. The information presented forward offers a deep insight of products that are obtainable from the conversion of waste cooking oil.Waste Cooking Oil (WCO) refers to used vegetable oil generated during food preparation. While WCO is cost-effective, improper disposal leads to environmental and soil degradation. To mitigate these effects, WCO can be repurposed as a feedstock for biofuel production.Biofuel, specifically Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME), is derived through a transesterification reaction between triglycerides in the oil and alcohol. This reaction utilizes 1:1 group clay minerals as a catalyst, with a predominant focus on kaolinite. Kaolinite serves as either the catalyst support or a precursor for other ceramic material catalysts, including Zeolites.Transesterification of WCO into Fatty Acid Methyl Ester requires the use of a catalyst. While it's possible to perform this conversion at high temperatures and pressures without a catalyst, it often results in a significant presence of fatty acids in the final product. Therefore, solid acid catalysts are preferred for biofuel synthesis.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 36 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Engineering - Mechanical Engineering, grade: 8.7, , language: English, abstract: The fundamental advantage of biodiesel is that it can be depicted as 'carbon impartial'. This implies the fuel creates no net yield of carbon as carbon dioxide (CO2). This impact happens in light of the fact that when the oil crop develops it assimilates the same measure of CO2 as is discharged when the fuel is combusted.India is the largest producer of oilseeds in the world and the oilseed sector occupies an important position in the country¿s economy. The country accounts for 12-15 per cent of global oilseeds area, 6-7 per cent of vegetable oils production, and 9-10 per cent of the total edible oils consumption. The area and production under the nine oilseeds was 26.11 million ha and 24.88 Mt, respectively in 2009-10, whereas the total edible oil production in the country stood at 6.17 Mt in 2009-10. As per the fourth advance estimates for 2010-11, the production of total nine oilseed crops is 31.10 Mt, which is a quantum jump over previous year¿s production. Oilseeds area and output are concentrated in the central and southern parts of India, mainly in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In India, edible oil consumption has been growing steadily over the years. From around 5 Mt in 1990-91, the aggregate consumption of edible oils has gone up to 14 Mt in 2009-10. Groundnut, rapeseed-mustard, soybean and palm oil account for around 60 per cent of the edible oils consumed in the country. In rural and urban India consumption of all edible oils per month increased from 0.37 kg and 0.56 kg respectively, in 1993-94 to 0.64 kg and 0.82 kg in 2009-10. This translates into an increase of 72 per cent and 46 per cent, respectively, among rural and urban households. The edible oils requirement of the country has been projected at 16.34 Mt in 2016-17 and 20.36 Mt in 2020-21, i.e. at the end of 12th Plan and 13th Plan, respectively.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 24 pp. Englisch.

It does so by, in two chapters, defining each of the aforementioned chemical combinations¿ synthesis and characterization, properties and respective dyads.Smaragdyrin is a pentapyrrolic 22¿-electron expanded porphyrin system bearing two direct pyrrole-pyrrole bonds. This macrocycle and its core modified derivative i.e. 25-oxasmaragdyrin have received upsurge interest in recent years due to their notable optical and electrochemical properties. Corroles are aromatic tetrapyrrolic macrocycles containing one meso carbon less compared to porphyrins and have one direct pyrrole-pyrrole linkage. This class of macrocycle possesses novel spectral, electrochemical and luminescence properties that can be exploited in material applications. In this book, we have discussed the synthesis, properties and their limited coordination chemistry of expanded porphyrinoid 25-oxasmaragdyrin and core-modified corroles.Corroles, on the other hand, are tetrapyrrolic contracted porphyrins, fully conjugated 18¿ electron macrocyles containing three methine bridges and one direct pyrrole-pyrrole linkage.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 40 pp. Englisch.
