Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware -The Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, holds the most extensive collection of Dutch master drawings in Sweden. It comprises important works by Rembrandt and his pupils, as well as drawings by Abraham Bloemart, Jan van Goyen, Herman Saftleven, Willem van de Velde and many other artists. Although trade contacts between the Netherlands and Sweden were lively in the seventeenth century, they account for only a small part of the collection. The bulk of the drawings was acquired by Swedish collectors in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Foremost among them was Count Carl Gustaf Tessin, whose acquisitions at the 1741 Paris sale of the financier Pierre Crozat make up the core of the collection. This catalogue, the result of a long-term research project, includes almost 600 drawings, of which approximately 130 are previously unpublished. Besides the Nationalmuseum, it draws on the collections of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm, The Gothenburg Museum of Art, the Uppsala University Library and other institutions. The NATIONALMUSEUM STOCKHOLM holds the most extensive collection of Dutch master drawings in Sweden. Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware -As long as already five thousand years ago, the allure of the sea inspired humans to recreate its essence in miniature, artistic forms, as public baths where ancient rituals would take place. Since then, it has become quite normal to immerse ourselves in cooling waters, in the privacy of our homes and without religious incentives. Swimming pools have rapidly become status symbols and the source for many diverse experiences: leisure-time athletics, relaxation, or the simple pleasure of just being in water. It is no wonder then that filmmakers and photographers constantly return to the swimming pool as a subject and setting. Reflections of water and light are captured in countless, unique ways in the more than two hundred compelling images that comprise this catalogue. Also included of course are the images of those who animate it.With works by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Gigi Cifali, Stuart Franklin, Harry Gruyaert, Emma Hartvig, Jacques Henri Lartigue, Joel Meyerowitz, Martin Parr, Paolo Pellegrin, Mack Sennett, Alec Soth, Larry Sultan, Alex Webb and others. 240 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Ausstellung: 3. März - 29. Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware -Secrecy is alluring! Already early anthropologists showed great interest in secret knowledge and secret societies, and, in the age of Wikileaks and the ongoing Internet privacy debate, the issue is still high on the list. The companion volume to the exhibition of the same title at the Museum der Kulturen Basel looks at secrecy from the perspective of social order. Secrecy creates boundaries between insiders and outsiders, between the informed and the uninformed. Access to secret knowledge means power, revealing it spells danger.Contributions from current research in diverse fields uncover how secrecy comes into effect in different cultural settings, while in-depth portraits of arcane objects from the collections of the Museum der Kulturen Basel reveal that secrets not only have a hidden but very often also a visible, public dimension.Exhibition: Museum der Kulturen Basel, 13. April 2018 - 21. April 2019 176 pp. Englisch.

Buch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware -How do female Indian artists position themselves today How do they deal with their responsibilities to society, as well as with the legacy of their feminist predecessors What kind of language do they invent to express that which has been unarticulated In Facing India, six female, Indian artists devote themselves not only to the history and future of India, but also to their country in the present day. Torn between tradition and the modern world, India's patriarchal society is in the midst of a socio-cultural transformation. In their multimedia works Vibha Galhotra (\*1978), Shilpa Gupta (\*1976), Bharti Kher (\*1969), Prajakta Potnis (\*1980), Reena Saini Kallat (\*1973), Mithu Sen (\*1971), and Tejal Shah (\*1979) examine boundaries-a central theme in Indian society, whether they are gender-related limitations, or political, territorial, ecological, or religious boundaries. This richly illustrated publication accompanies the first thematic exhibition of Indian women artists in Germany.Exhibition: April 29 - August 26, 2018, Kunstmuseum WolfsburgThe KUNSTMUSEUM WOLFSBURG has been collecting international contemporary art since 1994. With the acquisition of key works of late modernism and important additions from contemporary art, a top-class collection has been built up. Parallel to this, the museum presents an ambitious exhibition program, tracing cultural connections for the public. The exhibition On Everyone's Lips is curated by UTA RUHKAMP. 240 pp. Englisch.
