Following is a representaive sample of the quality and detail of Streetly's writing, excepted from page 41: "The Marine Corps' EF-10 Skyknight, a dual-role jamming and SIGINT [Signal Intercept] platform, was used by a detachment of composite squadron VMCJ-1 based at Da Nang from April 1965 onwards. To begin with the EF-10B was the only dedicated electronic warfare platform in the theatre. As such it was used both in the SIGINT role, and as an escort jammer, particularly in support of Navy Iron Hand operations. In the latter role, the Skyknight carried two jamming transmitters internally: an AN/ALT-2 in the upper port side of the nose radome and an AN/ALT-6B or another ALT-2 in the aft equipment bay. Both transmitters used 'scimitar' antennae and were used for lobe jamming during the approach to, and departure from a target. The Skyknight could also carry jamming pods beneath its wings." .
