Soft cover. Condizione: Fine. First Edition. From the original small print run. A fine first edition, first impression, very first printing of Roddy Doyles signed first book THE COMMITMENTS in card covers published without a dust jacket, in Ireland by Roddy doyle himself as King Farouk Publishing in 1987. This fine unread book has illustrated card covers, titles in black on the front cover and spine with white inside covers. The tight, bright book has no marks, bumps or writings over its 144 pages. The book is published on good quality paper that looks as good today as on the day it was first published. The copyright page notes it was published in 1987 with copyright Roddy Doyle 1987. The card covers in blue and brown have a cut out of the band members on the front and a photo of a young Roddy Doyle on the rear with a bespectacled King Farouk logo drawing. The book is not price clipped and includes the price on the rear cover. The book was made into a memorable film by Alan Parker in 1991 and has also been turned into a very successful musical. This pristine book is the original edition from the first print run in 1987 and was signed by Roddy to Carolin, one of his original muses from the theatre, who first inspired him to write in the Barrytown venacular. Clear removable archival film protects the pristine card covers. Signed by Author(s).
