The first chapter discussed about the concepts of marriage and unlawful marriage; the second chapter discussed the challenges related to determination and distribution of common assets in case of termination of unlawful marriage, it is very important to mention that analysis in this chapter were done basing on article 39 of the law no 59/2008 of 10/09/2008 on prevention and punishment of gender based violence and its interpretations made by different courts in Rwanda as quoted in this book.
