The aim of this retrospective study from a war-torn country in the Middle-East, is to evaluate the clinical presentations, staging distribution and the survival outcomes of WT in Zhianawa Cancer Center and Hiwa Cancer Hospital in ten years (2007 to 2017). As a conclusion, our survival outcomes (in Sulaimani, Kurdistan, Iraq) showed an improvement in comparison to the local results reported previously at another institution in Iraq, but still they are lower than the treatment outcomes in developed countries. Obviously, we need more efforts to improve our oncology care to get better results for our patients with WT.

An eco-friendly procedure utilizing PPA/SiO2 catalyst for the intramolecular ¿ -amidoalkylation is developed. Microwave-assisted variant of this eco-friendly procedure is also successfully developed. By the Bischler-Napieralski method are synthesized five new 1,4- disubstituted-l,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines. These are potential inhibitors of DHODH. It is found that the reduction of 1,4-disubstituted 3,4-dihydroisoquinolines leads to formation of diastereoisomers. The diastereoisomers are successfully separated by preparative column chromatography and 2:1 (cis:trans) ratio is determined. Neuware -Chitin and its deacetylated derivative chitosan are natural polymers which are composed of indiscriminately distributed a-(1-4)-linked D-glucosamine (deacetylated unit) and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (acetylated unit). Chitin and chitosan are used in fields of biomedicine, food and agriculture. The success of chitosan in each of these specific applications is directly associated to their physicochemical properties. The aim of this book is to highlight the relationship between the physicochemical properties of the polymers and their behaviour. A purposeful characterization of chitosan concerning some biological properties and a number of specific applications (drug delivery, tissue engineering, wound dressings, wastewater treatment, and agricultural use and chitosan nanoparticles) is given. The molecular mechanism of the biological properties like biocompatibility, biodegradibility, hydrogel, antiinflammatory, and antimicrobial has been updated. These properties can be further enhanced by modifications of chitosan on its primary amino group.
