In the first chapter, a general methodology is presented to introduce correlation in the preference lists that can be used in any kind of matching market. The second chapter focuses on the simplest two-sided and one-to-one matching market, that is, a marriage matching model, using the men-propose Gale and Shapley algorithm. The third chapter focuses on a one-sided matching market, namely the roommates problem, using the extended version of the Gale and Shapley algorithm. The general objective of this research is to determine an optimal production strategy to maximize the net revenue for the system. An inventory optimization model was built to determine the optimal harvesting week, shrimp size, and number of crops per year for experimental trials conducted at Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, Waddell Maricultural Center, and Oceanic Institute. Survival rate and price sensitivity analyses were conducted to see their impact on the system''s net revenue. The optimal harvesting week solved by this model is determined by shrimp growth and feed functions. Price and survival rate can affect the value of net revenue, but do not impact the optimal harvesting week. This consensus forms the basis of this work on the social construction of identities in the National Youth Service of Zimbabwe (NYSZ). Other aspects of identity - its multiplicity and negotiable nature - are used as key terms of reference in the investigation of identity construction in the NYSZ. This study investigates how social identity is constructed in the NYSZ, by whom and for what is it being constructed, and, significantly, with what success the NYSZ is creating the identities, and how its success can be explained. In this study, it is asserted that the NYSZ is not an ordinary kind of NYS. It is quite exceptional in terms of its structure, aims and operation. With regard to sociological theories of NYSs I propose the addition of a fourth perspective to the three presented by Sherraden and Eberly: construction of social and political identity.
