What's more, this copy is SIGNED by the author on the title page in blue ink. No inscription. Also included is a Scheurich "Spiderman" vase - so-called because of its red and black design. It is marked on the base W. Germany 210-18 (the latter number is height in centimeters). The book is a trade paper original in glossy card covers. LAID-IN is the original 1-page sheet issued with the book that matches values in 2006 to the pots photographed in the book by page number. Also laid-in is a copy of the sheet with updated values that was included with the 2nd edition in 2009. Also included is a 1-page flyer promoting an appearance by the author at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto in 2007. The author has served as an expert on the BBC Antiques Roadshow since 2007. He has co-presented four prime time television shows on antiques, collecting and interiors for BBC2, including two series of Collectaholics. He is an Arts Society (NADFAS) accredited lecturer and a member of The British Antiques Dealers Association. Fat Lava is now into a 4th edition. This copy shows typical wear to the surface of the black covers, and the corners have softened. The pages are firmly bound, and the spine is not creased. A limited edition (50 copies) suite of 10 high quality etchings, the plates produced by Swiss born, French artist Pierre-Georges Jeanniot in 1915, depicting appalling atrocities committed on the people of Belgium by German soldiers in the first few months of World War One. The etchings measure approximately 380 x 420mm and were hand printed by Martin Saul in 2014. This sets numbered 12 out of 50. The set is house in a card portfolio with very slight wear on the corners. Included is a 39 page booklet. The etchings themselves are mint. Used - Like New. VG hardback in VG dust jacket.
