Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: New. Condizione sovraccoperta: New. 1st Edition. A Biography of Buddy DeFranco, who was the greatest clarinetist in the history of jazz. Born in Philadelphia in 1923, Buddy quickly became a child musical prodigy, and was playing professionally at age 12, helping to earn a living for his family in the depths of the depression. By age 16, he was on the road with several famous swing bands of the 1930s. After the War he became a part of the bebop revolution in jazz in New York and went on to be a perrenial poll winner as the finest clarinetist in jazz. After a stint as the leader of the Glenn Miller Orchestra in the 1960s, Buddy resumed his stature as the finest clarinetist in jazz in the 1970s. He continued playing until he was 90 years old, completing what is probably the longest active career of any jazz musician in history. The book is 383 pages, with hundreds of photos in duotone and is a remarkable history of the jazz scene from the early 1930s to 2000. Complete discography of Buddy's recordings. Shipping free in the USA. Elsewhere shipping is $50, via FedEx. These are new books, directly from the publisher.
