It references a gift of Mr. Sandburg's record, presumably Carl Sandburg, since there is also reference to meeting Mr. Orso at the Lincoln Dinner. The note also comments on Mr. Sandburg's favorably comments on Mr. Orso's work. From Wikipedia: Sophocles Papas (1894-1986) was an internationally renowned classical guitar pedagogue. Papas was a regular contributor to many scholarly music journals, especially to CRESCENDO magazine; however, he is best known for his "Method for the Classic Guitar" and his revised edition of Fernando Sor's "Sixty Short Pieces for Guitar", first published in 1963. Additional publications include: Bach Album-14 Pieces By J. S. Bach for Guitar Five Catalan Melodies Harmonized by Miguel Llobet, Revised by Sophocles Papas (1960) Sophocles Papas' Guitar Greats: 9 Famous Finger Style Solos (1962) Sophocles Papas was the founder of the Washington Guitar Society. He was a lifelong friend of Andrés Segovia and teacher to Charlie Byrd.
