Trade Paperback. Condizione: Very Good. Trujillo, Judy (illustratore). Second Printing. 144 Pages. This is a December 2004 second printing edition with flawless interior text pages. The cover is a collage of black and white photos of family and friends. This book consists of previously uncollected poetry by the late Peggy Pond Church (1903-1986), one of the American West's major poets of the twentieth century. The poems, 127 of them in all, are arranged in ten year groups chronologically beginning with 1920 and running through the 1980s. The introductory material provided by her family, serves as a kind of biography of the author. Peggy Pond Church's story is one other women can recognize as their own. At the same time, her poems reflect an experience very few men and women in American history have undergone: her family, among several others, was displaced by the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos. She does not in this book make much of this. It matters no more and no less than her strongly felt reactions to accidental magic in her own life. The last poem is dated August 25 1985.
