Leather or leather-loo k binding. This book is a pictorial and descriptive history of landmark hom es and other structures in St. Charles. Illustrated with 33 full-page drawi ngs. 10th in a series on homes and other structures of historical significa nce in various Illinois towns. Each page of the book is hand silk screen pr inted. #29 of a limited edition of 200 copies. Also comes with a copy of a newpaper article originally published on December 9, 1984 that tells about David Alan Badger and his work as an artist and provides information about his ongoing project of documenting historical landmarks mainly around Illin ois. Badger was planning to produce more than 180 limited edition books doc umenting the architecture and history of communities in every county in Ill inois. Each book contains 35 to 40 of Badger's drawings of homes, business and public buildings in the community. Buildings he documents have been cho sen for their aesthetic appeal and for their historic significance. Each book also contains a brief narrative about the buildings. Also included withi n the books are poetry by Badger. According to the article, "Badger hoped h is books would serve as a reference & resource for future scholars, as some of the buildings have already been destroyed.". Limited Ed.
