Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. Marty Gage returns to prep school with divisive advice from a player on the major league team that his father manages. He destroys his pitcher's confidence and must learn how to rebuild it. Has a nice illustrated Dust Jacket of a close play at the plate with the umpire ready to make the call. Both the non clipped Dust Jacket (with some chips and tears, now in a mylar protector) and the book are in good condition. I have other Heyliger titles, hundreds of juvenile baseball fiction books, and more than 2,400 baseball publications in stock. Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. This VG book was published by Goldsmith in 1936; it is 7-7/8" x 5" with 250 numbered pages; there is no frontis or other illustrations in this book. This book is square and very clean; the lower corners have wear and the tiny parts of the boards are exposed but the bottom edges have only slight wear; there are no edge dings and the cloth spine ends are lightly bumped without damage. This is the only Goldsmith book that I have seen that uses cloth quarter binding. The front panel design is completely intact and undamaged. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and paper damage of any sort. The paper is slightly toned and very flexible and not brittle; end pages have a very minor amount of toning. Both hinges are very strong and not damaged in any way. The VG- jacket has very light general soiling, a tiny hole on the front panel (in the runner's right arm), tiny chips at the front corners and a finger nail sized chip at the head of the spine; there are no tears or tape on this jacket and no fading.
