Although Hazards editorial services to state and nation were recognized by his contemporaries, he has too often remained a neglected subject of study within the context of his own time. The Register of Pennsylvania, a periodical which saw publication between 1828 and 1835, contained census information, statistics, as well as news items pertaining to the state.
