The Knights of Trinity are a Commandry ( Com 133) of the Knights of St. John, which is a Catholic lay organization that fosters good deeds and furtherance of Catholic doctrine. The two small leaflets presented here are programs for two plays presented by the Knights and both performed at Trinity Hall, Park St., Syracuse NY. The programs are interspersed with advertisements for Fred Herzog : Headquarters for Patent Front Clothing (corner of No. Salina & Butternut Streets) ; George Zett Brewery - Bottler of Bavarian Lager Beer ; Walser Brothers, Dealers and Manufacturers of Fine Monumental Work (804 - 806 North State St.) Bartels Lager, Ale and Porter ; Thomas Ryan's Consumers Brewing Co., Famous Lager and Sparkling Ale. All of these are long defunct Syracuse businesses. One program, ("The Man From Maine"), with a date of 1903, was issued by Wendler & Kline, of 250 West Fayette St., Syracuse NY. This program is dated 1903. It is glued. Measuring 4" x 5 1/2" and having 8 pages, exteriors included. CONDITION : A little rough about the edges, with somewhat worn corners; exterior has various spots (foxing?) and a tiny stain (top left front corner tip) Interior is clean The leaflet is intact. Wood, Jacob Kohler, Miss Helena Ulrich, Miss Blanche Hamlin, Miss Belle Brennen The other program ("The Mountain Waif") is undated, but I surmise it to be from circa 1903, also. It was printed by Wendler at 23 Grand Opera House [the building touching diagonally at one corner onto downtown Genesee St.] with their office having a phone number : "New Phone 2217 -A" ). Measuring 4 1/8" x 5 1/2" and having 10 pages, including the exteriors. CONDITION : The two staples are rusted; there is general weathering and mild spotting (foxing?). The rear exterior has more surface rub and light abrasion. Rear corner tips are bumped with attendant creasing. Interior clean. PLAYERS : Henry W. Belge, James Balway, Otto A. W. (A plumed helmet with visor encircled by a ring with Knights St. John. Behind this is the Cross of St. John and two crossed swords (epees).
