The spine is not as worn, and still legible, though faded. Pencil writing on the endpapers, front and back. Still tightly bound, with bright pages, smudged and foxed only in spots. This almost 200 year old book has held up remarkably well, considering that it was not a book who sat safely ona shelf, but met with considerable use and handling. Water marks are found throughout the book, the worst toward the front (especially the front end pages). The previous owner's initials are drawn in blue and there are two triangles less than an inch tall and two indistinguishable figures drawn in pencil on the front end papers.
