Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. Hope Dunlap (illustratore). Over-sized hardbound (quarto). This is the original 1910 printing, NOT a modern reprint. Light wear to the blue cloth binding. The color pastedown on the front cover shows no edge chips, no surface scuffs, no scratches. No distortion of the book from reading or improper shelving. The text/illustrated pages are tight and clean with no marks. Previous owner's name in ink on the front flyleaf. And he festooned the front and rear blank end papers and blank pastedowns with numerous small doodles in red ink. No odor. No water damage. No soiling. No sun fading. No dust jacket. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Possible FIRST Edition. No other dates listed. A GOOD vintage volume (No Jacket). Red cloth spine is 'mottled' with fraying at crown and tail. Front and rear illustrated boards are gently worn along all extremities, with very mild rubbing/abrasions - general overall wear. A very neat and short 1910 holiday inscription on blank front end-paper.The gutter has been 'over-extended' at title page and at page 15. Still a very tight text block. Fabulous color and b/w artwork throughout - Interior pages are all clean and unmarked. At rear are four (4) pages of "The Muffin Song" music and words.Weak rear hinge. 80 pages. Priced to reflect these blemishes. Protected in a mylar slip.

All pictures mentioned in "A Word About the Pictures" list accounted for. Faded on ends of spine, boards worn on corners, rubbed along lower edge of boards. Cracked at title page, pages 17, 32, 48 and at last page, binding loose but pages intact. Page 65 torn in L-shape (3.5 inch long x 2 inch across) at lower edge, stained (2.5 inch) along edge either side of lower corner on pages 65 through 74, tear (1/8 inch) and piece folded back at fore edge on page 69. Bookstore sticker on rear paste-down and outline from sticker on opposite page. Pages thumbed but pictures bright and delightful. Overall, good. Brown DJ missing whole rear portion and spine: paper brittle and ragged around edges, front portion illustrated with charming drawing in brown of girl holding cookie away from goose. Overall, poor. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
