Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First Edition, first issue. Tightly bound in maroon cloth with ornate gold titles. Shelf and edge wear and fading to the spine, otherwise Very Good. The text shows light shelf wear, the endpapers have scuffs with paper loss and the rear free endpaper has a 3" tear at inner hinge. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York City. There is a penciled handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.
