An attractive copy of a notable proletarian novel of Slovak immigrant life in Pennsylvania steel mills, spanning three generations. The author was one of the most successful chroniclers of Eastern European immigrants in the American midwest, himself being of Slovakian/Lemko origin. This was his best-known work.
