Libro Copia autografata
Hardcover. Lobel, Arnold (illustratore). Illustrations by Arnold Lobel. 4to. Glazed pictorial paper over boards, pictorial dust jacket. 248pp. Frontispiece, extensive illustrations (many color), pictorial endpapers. Near fine/near fine. Bit of waviness to preliminary leaves. Tight, handsome later printing of this outstanding and broad verse anthology, sorted into a large array of themes and featuring poems by an enormous array of well-known poets. Best of all, this copy bears a unique autograph addition: Many years ago Prelutsky (born 1940), a prolific children's poet who by the way includes 28 of his own poems in this anthology, aided a library's fundraising campaign by signing an official printed catalog card for this very title -- this fine card bearing all the expected catalog card data, boldly signed by him in black ballpoint, is tipped facing the half-title page.
