Soft Covers. Condizione: VG. No Jacket. Photos, Diagrams, Documents, Graphs etc (illustratore). 1st. This history of the development of the famed Rickenbacker guitar begins in 1931 when Adolph Rickenbacker, already well known for his excellent steel guitars, set out to provide musicians with electrically amplified instruments. Since then his guitars have been in the hands of many of the most, prominant guitar performers. In his preface Beatle George Harrison says that "Along with its bright sound, this guitar contributed to a lot of the music of the Beatles and the 1960s." Richard Smith's history follows the development of the Rickenbacker guitars up to 1986 and lists the dozens of various models. Much additional detail is provided in severasl appendices and graphs. 244 pages, b/w photos, diagrams and document reproductions throughout, with a 78 colour photo section centrally located. Colour pictorial card covers VG with light wear lower front edge, no inscriptions. At some stage the book has suffered damp damage on the lower edge, this is not evident until the last few pages of the colour illustrations, from page 109, there is light adhesion scarring to the last five of the colour pages lower centre and mainly confined to the margin area. There is light water marking and crinkgling to page 156 and again for the last few pages with the water mark heaviest lower area inside back cover. This has had little impact on the visual appearance or enjoyment of the book.
