Den första på vetenskaplig grund utgivna Saxoupplagan, utgiven av den lärde Stephan Stephanius. Tillsammans med hans noter var utgåvan av banbrytande betydelse för Saxoforskningen och ersattes inte förrän Müllers utgåva utkom 1839. Stephanius noter utkom i en faksimilutgåva 1978.
