In fact the additional maps are present as insets (France, in "Europe," Armenia in "Asia," etc.) in the 20 full-page maps. Designed to accompnay The Geography by R.C. Smith, A.M. Each map is beautifully engraved on copper and hand-colored. Most of the maps are dated 1839, but six (Africa, Europe, Central Europe, South America, Eastern States no. 1 and Eastern States no. 2) are dated 1843. A very good copy in printed wrappers. backed in cloth tape. Some of the stitching is gone, and the map signature is loose in the wrappers. Wrappers uniformly toned to brown.
